Biography

Ana Jiménez was born in 1998.

Since childhood, she has shown a fixation with photography, looking at her family’s albums and finding inspiration in the spaces where she spent her childhood.

Her inspiration comes from elements that have surrounded her since she was young, such as ruins and abandoned spaces, which have always been very present in her life. As she has photographed them, she has been able to involve characters in these places that complement her stories.

Ana developed a career in Photography and Digital Imaging from 2017 to 2020. She works with two photographic techniques: analog to capture fleeting moments of her everyday life, and digital to create staged scenes. She is passionate about art direction, personifying the subject, creating color palettes, doing makeup, selecting costumes, and placing the character in a setting where their story can either be related or simply planned according to their context. She gives a concept to the series of images and keeps a field diary in which she records her findings, successes, failures, and ideas to photograph.
